Immigration / Daca Updates & Other Topics.

On 2014 Republicans voted to end DACA. We need to keep in mind DACA will eventually end! I have not been approved & I still worry about the outcome since I have a prior D.U.I from 6 years ago.

At the moment everyone is safe for now, but do keep in mind Obama's Presidency ends on Jan. 2017 after that anything can happen.

A couple of minutes ago I read this article

House GOP's Homeland Security Plan Will Undo Obama Executive Action On Immigration

I'm not trying to scared anyone simply inform you. For those who have been approved by DACA I encourage you to come back to this site & write any information you read about immigration & DACA. Just to keep everyone up to date as I will when ever I can.

I"m sure most forget about the reality of the situation when you get approved by DACA soon reality hits again when your renewal comes up.I encourage everyone to save your money & enjoy yourself as much as you can.I truly believe there will be no immigration reform any time soon the best thing to do is "Marriage"

We all need to help each other out.Life is tough! some have it great, some don't we all have different directions.

Positive vibes everyone!

I hope you get approved soon! And yes I pray every day but we have to take what they can give us. They require so much of us that if they would just give it to everyone including those who would be a threat to the communities and homeland security, I would be more worried. I am worried but I would be more worried. Probably DACA and DAPA is a sign and bridge right now because the reform is not coming soon. La lucha sigue :)

Si se puede!

I hope so.

Most people that are not in our situation are quick to speak. In other forums I always see the following "They don't pay taxes, they take our jobs etc"

I pay taxes & a high percentage of immigrants do too. What jobs? jobs Americans don't want to do.

For most of us this is our home now,we didn't choose to come here we were brought here at a young age.

I don't understand why DACA is such a problem for Republicans. We initially pay to see if we get approve & then once again for a renewal. There's also requirements that need to be met.

If you get in trouble you're disqualified. They know there's not going to be an immigration reform so at least give us this much.

Well like it says on the article, it is very unlikely that the bill will pass on the senate because they need Democrat votes, but Democrats have come out and said that they will not support any bills against any of the recent President's executive actions and the president has also stated that he will veto the bill or any other bills.

There're even 26 Republicans that were against this Bill. These are some of the many attacks that we're gonna see from Republicans and their main aim is to scared the community, but like the President told the DREAMers that met up with him last week, to encourage people to keep on applying because if these programs are successful then that could potentially lead to something broader.

Either way, we knew that Republicans weren't gonna stay with their hands crossed, but we are not gonna let them. The fight continues and we're gonna be ready to fight back and keep our victories and we'll keep on pushing for something broader.

I just saw this.

Update: Due to a federal court order, USCIS will not begin accepting requests for the expansion of DACA on February 18 as originally planned. The court's temporary injunction, issued February 16, does not affect the existing DACA. Individuals may continue to come forward and request an initial grant of DACA or renewal of DACA under the guidelines established in 2012 and discussed below. Please check back for updates.
