ANYBODY APPROVED WITH A MISDEMEANOR?
itzel replied to elva816's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
LOL...see how my post started with personal opinion? I dont necesarrily have to answer the question if I dont have the answer, however one of my rights is freedom of speech, so I can give my opinion. Thanks for pointing that out.. That sounds great Rudy, since you were already approved, give everyone a general idea on the "severity" of misdemeanors. -
ANYBODY APPROVED WITH A MISDEMEANOR?
itzel replied to elva816's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Personal opinion here, but I think that it depends the severity of the misdeamanor, also most of us who have submitted our DACA application have done so, because we dont feel anything in our past would make our request difficult of tricky to process. I agree with Sinae and anyone that feels in doubt about misdemeanors and so forth should consult an attorney. Good luck. -
Great post!!!! (sarcasm) Could you be more specific? Here Ill give you a few options: Option A: Perhaps you mean "What will the American people get out of it?" Option B: Perhaps you mean "What will the people who apply for DACA get out of it?" Lets try rephrasing that question.... And as usual to all new comers: Welcome to the forum and good luck with your endevors...

Very good question, and Im not sure if that would come out in an FBI background check. I was under the impression FBI background checks look for crimes that arent money related, but please dont quote me on this. Even if you are getting sued, if innocent or not, if youre in the process of reaching an agreement on that situation and there is paperwork showing that, I dont see why thatd affect your biometrics. Biometrics is where they take your fingerprints and picture/signature for your EAD. The fingerprints are then sent to be processed by FBI.

Thanks for all your input girls!! Im glad to say I went to an interview Friday and am waiting for response..I'd really like that job, but I have kept my schedule open for other interviews. Today I have 2 interviews and tomorrow 1. Im sure Im bound to get one of them. Unfortunately, my previous experience cant be listed in my resume because my employer was taking advantage of me, and I left in bad terms. I want to leave that bad chapter of my past where it belongs, in the past. Regarding career centers, I have looked into those and did obtain help "prettying" up my resume. Good thing is I have volunteer experience and I went to my city hall to get "official" paperwork of my typing speed which I can attach to my resume. In my resume I list my special skills and that includes Im awesome with computers. Hopefully all this info helps me with my interviews. Im hoping to get a receptionist job but honestly any job at this moment would be good. Good luck to all of us girls and may God keep blessing us as he has up to now....

Im not surprised...we're just days away from elections. But personally, if I could vote, I wouldnt vote for someone who doesnt seem to make up their mind. -
after being approved how long to get work permit?
itzel replied to Infusion's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Every state has different requirements. Im in TX and they are pretty uptight about having all the proper paperwork. I also got my TX ID for only 2 years. I notice youre from California. A member here by the name of C_Air23, may be able to guide you better than me. He already got his CA ID and I believe his DL and a job too. You might want to ask him about the requirements in CA. Good luck -
after being approved how long to get work permit?
itzel replied to Infusion's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Hi. Welcome to the forum. I got approved Oct. 9th and I received my work permit Oct. 12th. -
Not only is every case different but every case worker is also "different". Some work faster than others. Some are more leniant and some are more hard asses that may look into every little detail in the evidence provided. Dont lose hope. Just be patient.

How to obtain a Social Security Number after DACA Approval
itzel replied to JoseG's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I took in my original and notarized copy of my birth certificate like roadrunner suggested, but they didnt even look at it, the lady that helped me was easy to get along with and super helpful...and since I was already in the system, she just confirmed my parents names and ss #s. There are no fees and seems waiting times vary depending on state... -
Sucks that you ran into such shady people. Im not an attorney but it seems to me that not being approved by the 245i was the best thing that happened to you. This is because in order to qualify for DACA, you have to have no prior legal status. If you had been approved by 245i,and i dont know if that would have given you lawful status, you wouldnt have qualified for DACA. Congrats on qualifying for DACA, its not a permanent solution, but more of a chance and we have all been asking for that. I really think that if you do get approved by DACA, since we still dont receive any type of legal status, you should just do what you can with this opportunity. This is get your ID, DL, a job, maybe go back to school. The 245i seems to me like a boat that sailed away...but Im not a lawyer and your other route would be contacting another lawyer, but an honest one this time. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Drivers License/State ID (California)
itzel replied to C_Air23's topic in Life After Deferred Action
TX ID is only valid while EAD is valid. My EAD expires Oct. 7 2014 and my TX ID has the same expiration date. Im assuming my DL when I get it will have the same thing... -
Immunization card record...and medical records are great..

Thanks everyone!! C_Air23: It took at the most an hour and a half to get my TX ID. They gave me the printout of the ID and I should get the official card within a month.

Nebraska Service Center Topic from other DACA applicants
itzel replied to itzel's topic in Dream Lounge
It seems that since many DREAMERS that didnt apply for DACA as soon as it came out, are seeing other DREAMERS be approved and receive EAD cards are now applying. By doing so, they are slowing down the process for those that were already in the system. In other words, the process will get longer as more apply..I believe we will all be approved, some sooner than later, but eventually our dream will come true. -
Hi b923 When its the day of your appointment, take your passport and a copy of your certified birth certifcate. If they dont ask for it, its all right but its better to be over prepared then under prepared. Also, depending the day your appointment is, if you still have time, you might want to go and apply for a "matricula consular", a consulate id from the consulate of your home country. I applied for mine several years ago and I got it the same day, it did take a few hours but that ID has gotten me out of a lot of trouble. A consulate ID is considered an official government ID. Find out where your consulate is in your city and if its on walk in basis or appointment. Good luck and welcome to the fourm.

Seems Vermont may be skipping people now since Fredo87 got his biometrics done on September 25th. Nebraska Center also did that a few times. Regardless, I believe all those who havent been approved yet, will eventually be approved. Good luck to all!!!

I agree with Moe 100%. I have been applying this week at some of those places like Dollar General and Macys and it difficult getting a job with no experience. So I have a back up plan. My plan is to get "training" as a cashier at my father in laws car wash. Ill learn the ropes and after a few weeks will be able to add him as a reference that I have been trained and am competent for a job. Good luck to all and also please remember that if you dont have a checking account, to open one up, this is because some employers prefer to pay via direct deposit and we need to be as prepared as possible.
