As of right now, there doesn't seem to be a problem with walk-ins. We don't get a permanent resident card. We get an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) That one has the picture that you take in the Biometrics appointment.

For anyone who already have taken their biometrics test, what should we expect?

Hmm...What service center did you go to? What country are you from? -

Wow, seriously? Was it because it was expired or did they just down right not take it? -
Awesome.

I don't think it takes that long. I've read it only takes 2 weeks.

Yeah, he had everything done within a month. Now he just needs the SSN and he's set.

On the Biometrics appointment letter the receipt number is labeled as "Application Number" -

Yes, you need to take the Biometrics appointment letter with you to the appointment, along with photo identification. The A# and Receipt number are on the appointment letter. -
Damn, your appointment isn't until almost a month from now? I thought it was supposed to be 14 days in advance from when you get the Appointment letter. Mine is 19 days from now, I guess they're getting busier....You should try doing a walk-in considering how many people have done it successfully.

Your information should have been available online the day you got your I-797C, or a couple days after. It's been 20 days since you got your I-797C right? Your information should have been on there for a while now. I'm not saying there's something wrong though.

I'm sure you can, people have gone in days before their appointment and have been able to take their biometrics without a problem. -
If your MO or check that you sent to USCIS was cashed/cleared, does that mean you were approved?
JoseG replied to itzel's topic in Dream Lounge
I don't think so. They cash your payment before the Biometrics. When they send you the Biometrics appointment letter, they can request that you bring in extra documents, which means that you aren't approved yet, but your money is gone. After the Biometrics, they take one last look at your application, then they make a decision. They will cash your Money Order or Check regardless if you are approved or not. -

Yeah, stuff might come up in the background check from years back and they will be extra cautious with you. -

Hopefully people are getting their applications back if they messed up on them instead of getting denied right away. -

Only 29 approved so far? Even though the process is going faster than expected, that seems like a low number considering how many applied. -
I was kinda wondering the same thing. Does anyone know if you will get an e-mail notification from the case status site when your Biometrics appointment is mailed out so that I don't have to go check the mail box everyday -.-

Obama: I Didn't Promise to Complete Immigration Reform in my First Term
JoseG replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
Of course, I agree with you that we should make the best of it and show that we deserve to be here. I just don't like the reason for why Obama ordered Deferred Action and him basically saying not to be blamed for not completing Immigration reform because he never "promised" it. That to me is like a child going back on their word and saying "Nu-uh! I didn't say I promise" -
Obama: I Didn't Promise to Complete Immigration Reform in my First Term
JoseG replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
You do know that Romney can end Deferred Action the moment he becomes president right? It's not a permanent fix, it's just temporary enough to get Obama the votes he needs. Like I said, if he cared so much about the Dreamers, he could have ordered Deferred Action since the beginning. Why didn't he do that? Why did he wait four years "trying" for something that obviously wasn't going to pass because the majority in the Senate didn't approve of? If he cared about Immigration why did he split up families by deporting about 39K people a month since he took office? Sure, he says he was for immigration reform and for the Dream act, what does that mean? That means that if the Dream Act somehow got to his desk to sign it, he would. Until then, keep deporting. You have to look past the smoke screen, don't be fooled so easily. At least Romney is truthful about it. -

Ouch, that must hurt. What type of information did the technician ask you to approve? -
Obama: I Didn't Promise to Complete Immigration Reform in my First Term
JoseG replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
This time around he didn't even mention Immigration reform or the Dream act in his DNC speech. Uh-oh. What is he going to say if he wins the election? That he didn't even mention it? Yeah it's great that we got Deferred Action, what sucks is that he only did it to win back the Latino vote after he had lost them by deporting 400K illegal immigrants in 2011 alone! If he really wanted to help us, he could have ordered Deferred Action since the beginning of his term, then work on passing the Dream act. Not the other way around. It would have probably been even easier to pass the Dream act if we were all already here lawfully instead of trying to pass the Dream act while we were illegal immigrants, but of course that was never his concern. We were left hanging for 4 years. What an ass..... -
I don't think you should include fake SSN numbers that you have used. Especially if they belong to someone else as you would be using false documents to be employed, which is a felony and can land you a maximum of 10 years in federal prison without parole and a fine up to $250,000 Then again, no one knows what USCIS will do if you do submit a fake SSN. They might let it slide, they might not. If you submit work documents like pay checks, they can possibly check with your boss to see if you are using a fake SSN. No one knows how far USCIS will go, since it is a new process. Maybe an immigration attorney will have the correct answer. EDIT: If you ever claimed to be a U.S. Citizen, like on form I-9, that might cause a problem.

There is none as of now... unless we have a new president.

If you have never been convicted of any crime related to use of a false social security number, you should still qualify. You do not need to write down the fake Social Security number anywhere on the application.
