Yureelee got a reaction from A.Martinez in Hello Everyone I'm New
Hang in there!.. I personally understand what you are going through. I waited 9 months to get approved and never lost my faith and hope. I can tell you there were times when depression got into me but this forum always helped me cope with the stress . Keep hopes up and for sure you will sooner or later be approved.

Yureelee got a reaction from Leslyd24 in Hi!.. Im Yuri
Hello..My name is Yuri..So after so long looking for answers here I finally decided to create my own account. Well long story short , My daca application was received on Nov.8 ,2012 . I received an rfe on March 6 ,2013 . Gathered all the evidence I could for the months they were asking me for. They received my response to the rfe on April 22 ,2013. Its now going for almost three months since they received my response to the rfe , I am sad , stressed out , confused so many mixed feelings. Why is it taking so long??.. Everyone is getting approved ,even people who applied this same year , I am here still waiting. Called Customer Service last week and this really nice lady answered, all she did was tell me exactly what I see almost everyday when I check my case status in the uscis website. Oh! and she did tell me that uscis was working on the applications for the month of October 2012 , thats confusing because I personally know people who applied way after that month and have already been approved. I guess all I can do is wait , wait and wait. Adding some personal info. My parents brought me here the state of CA in the year of 1988 using a passport my mom had, we used to leave in Tj so my mom had a passport and I was included in it. Well Ive been here since then , 25 yrs of my life. Was only 5yrs when I arrived here. Well basically I used to love going to school , well you could of called me a nerd. Graduated high school in the year 2000. Back then it wasnt that easy attending college or a university without legal status. I had a high gpa so I could of automatically have been accepted to a university. I talked to my school counselor in my senior year , told her my situation about my status in the country. She basically threw all my dreams away telling there was nothing she could do to help me. I already had an appt to talk to one of the counselors from one of the universities. I didnt attend it. I was so depressed. So much dedication to school for nothing. Well so I jst ended up working in a fast food restaurant. In the year of 2007 I found out about a great and cheap medical assiting program that didnt require you to demonstrate legal status in the country. I completed in program in June 2008, by July I already had a job as a medical assistant in a pediatricians office. Well the dream come true was lived short. In Dec 2008 the doctors received a letter stating some kind of mistake with my ssn. And we all know what happend after that, no more job for me. I had to tell the doctors the truth about my status , they were always great persons towards me so I jst couldnt lie. Well here I am waiting to see if my case gets approved. Theres so many dreams that have been cut short . I am seriously so stressed out. But while theres faith there will always be hope.

Yureelee reacted to Theresa in Credit Card
Good for you for thinking about building your credit the best way possible.
First tip is that you don't want to run up debt. So, it is not so much about how much money you spend, but how you manage your use of credit.
You can build a strong credit history by responsibly using credit. That means using your card, paying your bills on time, and not carrying a balance that eats up more than 30% of your credit limit. It is best to pay the balance in full, so you don't pay interest, but use your card regularly.
Use your card every month, even for a small purchase like a tank of gas or one trip to the grocery store. This will show creditors that you're taking out a debt and paying it off.

The fee for the Chase Total Checking is only $10 and it's waved if you have direct deposit and get a combined total deposit of only $500 a month.

Its defiantly not a big deal to change banks. You just simply tell them you want to close ur bank account and you go ahead and open it elsewhere. Or you can simply not use it and open another one. Wells Fargo is pretty good in my opinion and most of the major banks have similar policies because they have to compete against each other, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Right now chase is about the same as wellsfargo, chase charges you 12$ if you have a balance of less than 1500$. Wellsfargo waves the 12$ if you use your card 10 times in a month. I had Chase, and when my balance went below 1,500, they started charging me even if you add more balance they charged after your balance has gone below 1,500. Wellsfargo is not on the favorite list either but at least they wave the monthly fee if you use it 10 times.

Thanks you guys for the recommendations. I guess I should of read them first before opening the account with Wells Fargo..lol. I am going to be getting direct deposits of my paychecks to the account. So hopefully they don't start coming out charging with high fees. If I don't like it , then I guess I will just change banks. I hope its not a big deal changing banks if one day I decide to do it. Or is it ??

I agree Jose. Go with Chase because Wells Fargo Sucks. I had a rough start with them on overdraft fees, but I got the hang of it now. They didn't offer me unsecured credit even though I had a secure credit card for a few years .

Yureelee got a reaction from stolenlacs in Make The Struggles You've Gone Through Into Your Strengths.
Reading your story just brought me back so many flashbacks of my childhood. Feeling left out and more when every single member of my family had legal status except me. Yes, they would always try to encourage me in some when or another so I wouldnt feel left out. But nothing could console the emptiness I had inside.. Until now!!.. Thank God we received this great opportunity that even though we are not granted any kind of legal status we can work legally , drive legally do everything legally. And I REALLY REALLY know that pretty soon you will finally be approved and will be able to live your life to the fullest... VERY GOOD LUCK TO YOU !!

If you've lived this life since you were a kid you know what its like growing up without hope, no job, no license. People will tell you they understand what you're going through but the reality is they wont.
The way we view the world is not the same as what the friends we have around us who grew up as American citizens or any other American. If you're someone out there who's ever felt alone, abandoned, forgotten or unheard.
I want you to know that I've gone through it and I understand your pain.
I want you to know that I understand the struggle. I understand what it's like feeling like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. I want you to know you're not alone.
I want you to know that I've seen my own brother destroy his life with drugs because he couldn't handle growing up this way I don't blame anyone but himself for doing drugs to deal with his problems but things got bad and the drugs got worse. I hate putting blame on other things and other people but deep down I know what caused him to live way he lived, depression, an unstable home environment due to the way we grew up, parents having to constantly work their butt off to support my mother, me, my older brother, and my little brother in turn they didn't really have much time to do the "little family things'' that other American family's have.
I just wish my brother dealt with his problems differently in a way that didn't hurt the person that loved him the most. I feel like it was me and he just didn't know. I looked up to him and I feel as if he left me to deal with this situation alone when we could have gone through this together.
Things may never get better with my brother, It's something that I think about everyday and it eats me up inside to know that there's nothing I can do but be the best older brother I can be to my 14 year old brother and make sure I never abandon him the way my older brother did.
On a lighter note my friends, my older brother received his work permit and license a month ago and hes finally driving and "trying" to get a job. he waited about 9 months.
Also, my little brother was born here so he wont have to live the way me and my brother lived. so thats good
Its August 30, 2013 and I want you all to know I'm still patiently waiting. (Initial review)
I think of it this way. I came here when I was 6, I'm currently 20 years old.
its been nearly a year but Im happy because I know whats coming.. Ive waited my whole life. One year isnt going to discourage me. I know once I get my permit and license my life's gonna change.
Don't forget guys, we've gone through what others(americans) cant imagine. Turn that into one of your strengths. Be great guys. Opportunity is coming. Hope is here.
Thank you for your time. and thanks for reading. I promise you. It means a lot to be heard.

Yureelee reacted to uclabeatsc in CA ID/DL Information & Question Thread (Exam Questions!)
This thread will be informational for those who are in CA trying to get a CA DL..especially if you have an out of state license too!
I just want to help everyone out here. Just because I have everything now, I'm not trying to ditch everyone on this forum because there are still those waiting! So, here's to help.
So first off, I went to the SSA 11/28/12 .. then I went to the DMV 11/29/12 so I guess I took a risk.
I went to the DMV line at 7 A.M. in the morning at Lincoln Park (because one of the members told me he got a 5 year license here ) *fingers crossed*
So I lined up, applied for my license. Here's the thing. I have an out of state license from WA like many of you have posted. So I finished my application, and the lady just asked for my EAD, no SSN actual card (just the number).
She then also asked for my WA ID since I told her I had one (I didn't have to take behind wheel test because of this). I paid $31 and she hands me a receipt and tells me to stand in line in which I got my fingerprint/picture taken. Then I went to the testing room for my written exam.
I took the written exam and got 1 wrong which means I passed. The lady asked me for my WA license and she hole punched it (which means it's temporary now). She told me I didn't need it and she handed me over my Temporary CA License and said I should receive my ID in the mail soon.
In no way shape or form did anyone ask me about DACA! Also, I was very surprised because I went to SSA on 11/28 around 1pm (near closing time)..and went the next morning to the DMV 11/29 first in line in the morning and the information was already processed. The DMV was able to verify my SSN obviously because if they didn't, I wouldn't have gotten my temp license. Ah I'm so thankful!
--
Also, I'd like to help those out in the WRITTEN EXAM
. I have my paper and will be posting a video shortly..but in the meantime, I will post YouTube links and really these are all you need. (Questions exactly the same except maybe 1 or 2)
http://www.youtube.com/user/enjoyqwer
^ ^ user has about 6 sample tests -- very helpful.
So how to study? Honestly, I just looked at these videos once. They pretty much have all the same questions, but I urge you to look at all the vids because some have different questions!
Lastly, I would like to say that in no way shape or form did ANYONE ask about DACA, my status, etc at the DMV. It was a very smooth process. IF ANYONE HAS QUESTIONS, DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK IN THIS FORUM. I AM HERE TO HELP
Also, I will update on how many years my license is for.
