I agree Jose. Go with Chase because Wells Fargo Sucks. I had a rough start with them on overdraft fees, but I got the hang of it now. They didn't offer me unsecured credit even though I had a secure credit card for a few years .

You don't have to submit evidence exactly dated on June 15th, 2012. The evidence can be dated shortly before or after, maybe like within a week or two. Find the closest dated evidence you have and send that in.

G-1145 is a form that you fill out so that you are notified by e-mail or text message whenever the lockbox gets your documents. They send you two messages and in those messages you will find two Receipt Numbers, one for the I-821D application and the other for the I-765 application. These Receipt Numbers are used to check the status of your case on the USCIS website.

It isn't required to fill out that form and it doesn't matter if you do or not, you will still be sent two Receipt letters in the mail that say the same thing that the e-mail/text says.

Gino don't lose hope. I also had a hard time finding a job in my field. I would suggest applying for entry level positions at businesses or companies where you eventually want to work in finance?
Then once you are hired there work your way up.
Keep applying and when you go to interviews always sound passionate about the position and let them know you want to grow in the company using your skills. Good companies like people who want to work their way up.

any important key to job hunting is to follow up on the job applications and resumes that you have sent. call about 2 days after you filled out the application or sent a resume and simply state your name and that you were just touching base on the application you filled out or the resume you dropped off. if you have the time and the places are local, try going in person with a resume and asking to see the manager and introduce yourself and ask if they will take your resume. a lot of the times, filing out a job application online just sends the application into the human resource black hole and not to the individual store you want to work out.

so put yourself out there and remember that it is a very competitive job market. it's not only us looking for work but so many others as well.

Try to post more resumes than to replying to jobs since companies recieve up to hundreds of enquiries about posted jobs. Don't forget to go in person to register to job agencies. Don't overlook the assistant positions that may lead to something good in the future like experience and promotions and if you see a hiring post that says apply in person or e-mail resume, go in person because maybe they will interview on the spot. Register in LinkedIn and look for employed friends from college (they might refer you or might know about one) I hope you find a job soon!

I would have probably just made up a story of how you had to change your SSN because of identity theft. Would have probably made things much easier lol.

engineer2mike reacted to pswa83 in Do You Carry???
if you already have a state ID or DL, then there is no need for you to carry your EAD with you at any time. only when you are offered and accept a job offer, and doing the initial paperwork for the job will you need to show your EAD.

there have been too many people who have lost their EADs because they carry it around with them. one SHOULD NEVER, EVER carry their EAD and SSN with them. if they are lost or stolen you will need to pay the $380 fee again in order to get another one.

also, if you do lose your SSN, you need to put a hold on it with the SSA in order to assure that no one else can use it.

Yes! I finally got approved after 9 months of waiting. I was told my case was being investigated for fraud, I made several service request inquiries with no response, and I even emailed Nebraska office directly and didn't get a response, but I think that's what helped me get approved. Bcuz after 2 weeks of sending them an email I got approved. I now have my red card and I'm in the process of obtaining my ssn and my license. I'll be sticking around here to help those who have questions about their case. Good luck to rest who are still waiting!!!!!

Some of those dreamers had DACA, some didn't. Those who did have DACA, didn't request Advance Parole before leaving the United States, therefore they are inadmissible and might be barred from the U.S for 3/10 years. They didn't have the required documents to travel outside of the U.S, DACA alone doesn't allow us to do that.

engineer2mike reacted to outofmxny in Are You Preparing For The Reform?
Yes, we're preparing. As far as myself, I'm trying to finish my undergraduate degrees and apply to go to medical school before the legislation goes into effect. I figure the evidence requirements will be about the same as DACA (proving continuous residency for a number of years), so I have a bank account, credit card, cell phone, and I still make regular online purchases.

If all goes well, my mother will also get the chance to apply to change her status post-reform. We have a box here filled with evidence from the date of our entry into the country (late 1980s) to present. There are a few gap years, so right now we're trying to figure out what kind of evidence we can use to prove she's been here the entire time.

I figure the best thing people can do would be to begin gathering evidence that proves they have never exited the country. It sounds like a pain, but, in my opinion, there's no point in waiting until the final requirements will come down. Right now the Sentate's bill has only a two year residency requirement, but I figure it could potentially increase once the two houses go to conference and produce a bill. So, it only makes sense to try to gather evidence for the length of one's U.S. residency.

I too appreciate and thankful for DACA because the E-Verify Glass Barrier was shattered to pieces once I got Approved. It feel awesome not worrying about background checks . I will resume College this Fall to complete my Junior & Senior Year in Engineering. I got a Capitol One Credit Card, and i will soon move-in to my own place. It's been the happiest Summer of my life. I hope A lot of prosperity to you Guys, and I hope all your goals are met

Life has definitely improved since my approval in December.

I'm working two jobs now and am able to help out more at home in terms of finances. Never knew how much I would appreciate direct deposit and my mother not being so stressed out. This is the most carefree she's been in a long time.

I can finally focus on finishing my degree and going to medical school. Before DACA, I had no clue how I was going to finance the rest of my education. Unfortunately, my state has banned undocumented students from the less expensive state schools (great education with a much lower price tag), but I'm not giving up on my double major.
