Admin got a reaction from Yureelee in Opening A Bank Account
Its defiantly not a big deal to change banks. You just simply tell them you want to close ur bank account and you go ahead and open it elsewhere. Or you can simply not use it and open another one. Wells Fargo is pretty good in my opinion and most of the major banks have similar policies because they have to compete against each other, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Admin reacted to Yureelee in Opening A Bank Account
Thanks you guys for the recommendations. I guess I should of read them first before opening the account with Wells Fargo..lol. I am going to be getting direct deposits of my paychecks to the account. So hopefully they don't start coming out charging with high fees. If I don't like it , then I guess I will just change banks. I hope its not a big deal changing banks if one day I decide to do it. Or is it ??

Admin got a reaction from Yureelee in Best Credit Cards To Apply For After Daca
Fredo you are the Man. if you apply for a Capitol one journey credit card, you will get approved instantly no matter what. I had no credit and I got approved. Also I aplied for a Discover credit card and I got approved as well. I fileed it out online and then I called them. They might change the rates a terms a little bit but you will still get one. This worked for me with 0 credit score and it should work for anyone else. I mean as long as you put in a good ammount of $$ per year. I believe at least 9,000 or 10,000. I don't remember the excact ammount that I was told.

Admin reacted to Yureelee in Hi!.. Im Yuri
Hello..My name is Yuri..So after so long looking for answers here I finally decided to create my own account. Well long story short , My daca application was received on Nov.8 ,2012 . I received an rfe on March 6 ,2013 . Gathered all the evidence I could for the months they were asking me for. They received my response to the rfe on April 22 ,2013. Its now going for almost three months since they received my response to the rfe , I am sad , stressed out , confused so many mixed feelings. Why is it taking so long??.. Everyone is getting approved ,even people who applied this same year , I am here still waiting. Called Customer Service last week and this really nice lady answered, all she did was tell me exactly what I see almost everyday when I check my case status in the uscis website. Oh! and she did tell me that uscis was working on the applications for the month of October 2012 , thats confusing because I personally know people who applied way after that month and have already been approved. I guess all I can do is wait , wait and wait. Adding some personal info. My parents brought me here the state of CA in the year of 1988 using a passport my mom had, we used to leave in Tj so my mom had a passport and I was included in it. Well Ive been here since then , 25 yrs of my life. Was only 5yrs when I arrived here. Well basically I used to love going to school , well you could of called me a nerd. Graduated high school in the year 2000. Back then it wasnt that easy attending college or a university without legal status. I had a high gpa so I could of automatically have been accepted to a university. I talked to my school counselor in my senior year , told her my situation about my status in the country. She basically threw all my dreams away telling there was nothing she could do to help me. I already had an appt to talk to one of the counselors from one of the universities. I didnt attend it. I was so depressed. So much dedication to school for nothing. Well so I jst ended up working in a fast food restaurant. In the year of 2007 I found out about a great and cheap medical assiting program that didnt require you to demonstrate legal status in the country. I completed in program in June 2008, by July I already had a job as a medical assistant in a pediatricians office. Well the dream come true was lived short. In Dec 2008 the doctors received a letter stating some kind of mistake with my ssn. And we all know what happend after that, no more job for me. I had to tell the doctors the truth about my status , they were always great persons towards me so I jst couldnt lie. Well here I am waiting to see if my case gets approved. Theres so many dreams that have been cut short . I am seriously so stressed out. But while theres faith there will always be hope.

Admin got a reaction from Hello_keren in Deferred Action Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ is taken directly from DHS Website. If you have any questions, reply below.
Over the past three years, this Administration has undertaken an unprecedented effort to transform the immigration enforcement system into one that focuses on public safety, border security and the integrity of the immigration system. As DHS continues to focus its limited enforcement resources on the removal of individuals who pose a danger to national security or a risk to public safety, including aliens convicted of crimes, with particular emphasis on violent criminals, felons, and repeat offenders, DHS will move to exercise prosecutorial discretion to ensure that enforcement resources are not expended on low priority cases, such as individuals who were brought to this country through no fault of their own as children, have not been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, or multiple misdemeanor offenses, and meet other key criteria.
Effective immediately, certain young people who were brought to the United States through no fault of their own as young children and meet several key criteria will be considered for relief from removal from the country or entered into removal proceedings. Those who demonstrate that they meet the criteria will be eligible to receive deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal.
Only those individuals who can prove through verifiable documentation that they meet these criteria will be eligible for deferred action. Individuals will not be eligible if they are not currently in the United States and cannot prove that they have been physically present in the United States for a continuous period of not less than 5 years immediately preceding today

Admin reacted to JoseG in Ead Card, No Place Of Birth
I've seen this before, but I don't know if it's a big issue or not. It don't think it is, so If I were you, I would go apply for my SSN then get my ID/DL, then after you have everything, contact USCIS to see if they can fix the mistake.

Admin reacted to Santi in Save The Date - July 10... Immigration Reform D-Day
As many probably know, a huge milestone was reached when the Immigration Reform Bill passed the Senate with flying colors (68-32).
However, the real test is yet to start: The GOP controlled House of Representatives and their leader, Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio).
Boehner is one of the strongest critics of the current bill that was passed in the Senate, and has explicitly said that he won't send any bill to the House floor unless it has significant support from his Republican colleagues in the House (the Hassert Rule). Moreover, he has stated that the Senate Bill 'needs a lot of work,' and he would rather vote on an immigration bill that has been developed in the House.
This guy is a tough cookie with a lot of influence in the House, so the more Republicans that jump on board the bill before they reconvene on July 10, the better.
On this date (July 10), GOP members of the House will meet to discuss what options are available to them and how to proceed.
Below are a couple things to be aware of before the House opens the floor for Immigration Reform:
GOP Members of the House are against a pathway citizenship (at least the majority of them) The House wants to offer both a comprehensive bill and single-item bills Some House GOP members have not even read the Senate Bill All things considered, there is significant pressure on Congress to overhaul the immigration system. Given the unpopular finger-pointing that takes place whenever there is either a gridlock in congress, or when a bill fails to pass because of increased disagreement among the voting parties, citizens (I mean everyone, even you) and voters are demanding that elected representatives get the job done.
Also, mid-term congressional elections are fast approaching (2014), and the GOP has been under increased scrutiny because of the perceived notion that Republicans are to blame when something is not done in Washington. In addition, not only do they want to either have significant control of the House or Senate, they also want to be strong contenders for the 2016 Presidential Election and increase their popularity among Latino voters.
Let us hope for the best and keep supporting those individuals that are constantly in the front lines fighting for the rest of us.

Admin got a reaction from God_why_m3 in Reid Sets July Deadline For Immigration
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) has set an end-of-month deadline for Senate passage of immigration reform, giving the chamber three weeks to debate legislation on the floor.
“We are going to finish the bill before the July 4 recess,” Reid said Thursday. “We need to finish this bill and we’re going to do it as quick as we can.”
Reid added that the issue has already been thoroughly discussed in committee.
“There are very few pieces of legislation that we’ve had come to the floor in recent years that has been [as] thoroughly discussed, debated and presented as this,” he said.
Reid has met with Republicans and told them they have already had weeks to review the legislation during the Judiciary Committee’s markup last month.
“Everybody knows pretty much what this bill is about,” he said. “No one can complain about not having had time to read the bill. They’ve read it, they’ve studied it and there’s no reason we can’t finish this debate quickly.”
The July recess will begin after the last week of June.
Senate Democrats met Thursday afternoon to discuss their strategy for handling amendments to the legislation, President Obama’s top domestic initiative.
The Senate will vote to end debate on the motion to proceed to the immigration bill at 2:15 pm Tuesday and then vote to proceed at 4 p.m.
Members of the Senate Gang of Eight, which drafted the bill, have set a goal of passing it with 70 votes, but Reid is more focused on clearing the 60-vote threshold needed to overcome a filibuster.
Reid downplayed speculation that Democrats must accept an amendment by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) strengthening border security in order to push the bill to final passage. Rubio is a member of the Gang of Eight.
“We are interested in getting as many votes as we can and getting as many votes as we can does not depend on any one amendment,” he said. “I am totally convinced that there is tremendous momentum to get this legislation passed no matter what people are saying on the record, off the record.”
Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the lead Democratic sponsor of the bill, said “the momentum is getting stronger every day,” citing the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, agribusinesses, evangelicals and the high-tech community.
He said those groups are contacting undecided senators to urge them to support the bill.
Schumer said Democrats are willing to strengthen the border-security provisions but do not want to give anti-immigration opponents a chance to block the path to citizenship for an estimated 11 million immigrants in the country illegally.
